Getting Started
Are there any rebates available?
Every household in Australia is entitled to the STC rebate. Every state is different with eligibility and you may be eligible for additional rebates depending on the solar system you are installing.
One of our friendly Team Members will be able to advise you on the rebate’s you are eligible for.
Is the system installed by qualified electricians?
Yes. All of our installers are fully qualified licenced electricians and they are accredited by the Clean Energy Council of Australia for the design and installation of your solar system.
What size system should I get?
Your homes energy consumption, how many panels your roof will fit and your future plans are the biggest factors we take into consideration when sizing up a home for a solar system.
Seeing as every home is different we recommend you contact us and we will provide you with a personalised proposal to ensure you’re getting exactly what you need.
How long does the installation take?
The length of time a standard 5kw system installation takes will vary depending on the difficulty of the job, but on average it will take 1-2 days (Installed correctly, with no shortcuts).
Do you have a payment plan option?
Yes, we do offer payment plans as we understand upfront payments are not for everyone. This will be discussed during your quote.
Payment plans do not require a deposit, and there are no payments made before the system is installed.
If you’re happy to proceed with the upfront option, we request a 10% deposit to secure your system, a 30% pre-installation payment upon booking your installation and the remainder 60% balance once your new Interfaced Energy system has been installed.
What do I need to do to get a system installed?
Easy! One of our Team Members can provide you with a proposal based on your power usage, future plans and the size of your roof. Once you’re happy with the proposal all you need to do is sit back and relax! We do everything for you and when your home is ready for install we will book it in based on your schedule.
Once installed and Western Power have given their Approval to Operate (Typically a few days after install. Don’t worry, we sort all of this out for you as well) your system will be up and running!
So, in short, after accepting the proposal there is literally nothing for you to do!
Your Solar System
Can I upgrade to a larger system down the track?
Yes, extra panels can be added to an existing system if it has been installed with a larger inverter. In situations where that is not the case, and the installed inverter cannot take on any extra panels, we can add an additional inverter or replace and upgrade the current inverter to support a larger system.
Is my solar system battery ready?
Most modern systems can have a battery installed.
Do I need to get a battery installed as well?
Short answer, no.
While we understand each situation is unique, and for some homes the safety net a battery offers will outweigh the financial outlay due to the benefit of backing up the home to an extent during black-out situations, but for most homes it’s just not a financially viable option.
With rebates and feed-in tariffs dropping each year, the cost of batteries will become much more affordable.
Will my solar system require maintenance?
Short answer, no. Solar systems are generally maintenance free and the panels will often clean themselves when it rains.
Interfaced Energy does have a service team however that do annual system services if that is an option you would like to include with your solar package.
These services include;
- A visual inspection. This includes all mounting hardware, cabling/wiring and fittings to prevent play and premature wear.
- A full system clean.
- Performance tests to ensure systems are running optimally.
- A full written report of your service.
Speak to one of our Team Members if this is a service you’d like to include with your solar system.
Will my system still work on cloudy days?
Your system performance will be affected by cloud cover, though the panels we use are designed to work well in these low light situations. If not enough power is generated by the panels due to high cloud cover then you will be using power from the grid.
